Team news for visit of Derry City

September 28, 2014
Derry_City_FC CrestBray have no injury worries ahead of their clash with Derry City on Tuesday night, Michael Barker who missed the trip North on Friday night has recovered from his ankle injury and has returned to the squad. Manager Alan Mathews will however have to plan without the services of defender Shane O'Connor and striker Ismahil Akinade both of whom received red cards from referee Padraig Sutton in the final eleven minutes at United Park on Friday night. Speaking ahead of Derry's visit to the Carlisle the Bray boss who was very pleased with his sides performance in Drogheda said " We will take great confidence from Friday's game in Drogheda and we will look to take that into Tuesday's game". ******* Derry City have not lost a League game against Bray in the last 16 meetings between the sides. ****** It took Bray 16 attempts and 15 years to record their first League win over Derry City. It happened on 18th. August 2000 in a Premier Div. game at the Carlisle Grounds, Colm Tresson getting the only goal of the game. ****** When they won 5-0 at the Brandywell in July Derry became the third side to score 100 goals against Bray Wanderers since 1985. ****** Earlier this season the sides played out a scoreless draw at the Carlisle Grounds. Adam Hanlon scores Wanderers goalNine man Bray Wanderers moved a point closer to guaranteeing their Premier Division status as they drew 1-1 with Drogheda United at United Park on Friday night. The Seagulls faithful supporters left the ground wondering how their team did not secure all three points considering the number of chances they had in the game. After a scoreless first half the Seagulls opened the scoring on 62 minutes when Adam Hanlon scored. Wanderers were well on top after scoring but the home side scored against the run of play on 74 minutes. Then in four minutes of madness Wanderers had two players red carded - Izzy Akinade(78 minutes) and Shane O'Connor(82 minutes). Overall, the Seagulls played some sparkling football which hopefully will enable them push on to secure all three points against Derry City on Tuesday night at the Carlisle.
